No. Houston Sleep Health evaluates a range of sleep concerns, including insomnia, unrefreshing sleep, daytime fatigue or sleepiness, restless legs, sleepwalking, bedwetting associated with sleep concerns, and frequent nighttime awakenings. We also help with snoring, sleep apnea, and less common sleep disorders.
Results are often reviewed at a follow-up visit about one week after a sleep study. Your team will confirm when your results should be available and help arrange a visit to explain the findings and next steps.
Your appointment may be with Dr. Raj Kakar or another qualified clinical provider on the Houston Sleep Health team. Please tell us if you would like to request a particular provider. We can explain who will see you and how your sleep study will be reviewed.
We can help with PAP equipment, masks, and supplies, along with guidance on fit and treatment comfort. Ask about current purchase and rental options and whether your specific insurance plan can be used for durable medical equipment (DME).
Explore equipment optionsIf PAP is prescribed, equipment setup may take about one to two weeks after the treatment study and prescription process. Timing depends on any required testing, insurance authorization, equipment availability, and the supplier. Our team will explain your expected timeline.
CPAP provides one prescribed continuous pressure to help keep the airway open. Bilevel PAP provides a higher pressure when you breathe in and a lower pressure when you breathe out.
Bilevel PAP may be considered when higher pressures are needed, CPAP is difficult to tolerate, or another clinical reason makes it appropriate. Your provider determines which device and settings fit your needs.
Learn about Bilevel PAPYour provider will recommend a treatment plan and determine whether a CPAP titration study is needed to assess the mask and pressure settings. Once the plan is established, a prescription can be sent to a DME supplier for equipment setup.
The next step depends on your study results and medical history; our team will explain the process that applies to you.
A CPAP titration study is an overnight study in a sleep lab that evaluates your response to PAP treatment. The team works on mask fit and pressure settings while monitoring your breathing and sleep.
A staff member may contact you with a summary of your response to treatment and information about obtaining equipment. A separate result-review visit is not always necessary, but you can request an appointment with a provider to discuss the findings in more detail.
A common estimate is about one to two weeks after your CPAP study and completion of the prescription requirements. Please contact our office if two weeks have passed without an equipment update, or if your supplier’s expected delivery date has passed.
A follow-up visit is often arranged about four to six weeks after the CPAP study, allowing time to review your initial treatment experience. Your clinician may recommend a different schedule based on your needs.
Bring your PAP device and mask if requested. We can review treatment data, comfort, and mask fit and determine whether adjustments are needed.

Bring your device and mask to an equipment-support visit. Our goal is to help you use your prescribed treatment comfortably and consistently; pressure changes should be guided by your care team.
