Obstructive sleep apnea
Repeated narrowing or blockage of the upper airway can interrupt breathing and sleep. Persistent snoring is a reason to discuss the possibility with your child’s clinician.
Some children show irritability, hyperactivity, or difficulty focusing rather than obvious sleepiness. Untreated sleep apnea can affect learning, behavior, and growth.
